Pastor Tom Johnson Biography
I accepted Christ as my personal Savior in March of 1977 in a college town known as Indiana in the state of Pennsylvania, the home of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Later, I became interested in missions while attending Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer, Pennsylvania. However, it wasn't until I completely surrendered every area of my life to the Lord (Proverbs 3:5,6), that God led me to pursue the study of medicine, so I could become a medical missionary.
After graduating from East Carolina University School of Medicine in 1990, I completed an internship in General Surgery, a one year internship in Family Medicine, followed by an apprenticeship in Family Medicine in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I also received Bible training from Harrisburg School of the Bible and from Falls Institute of Training at my home church, Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
I met Anna, my wife in March, 1995 on a trip to the Holy Lands in Israel. We were married the next year on March 23rd, 1996. We began serving the Lord full-time through Baptist World Mission, beginning in October 1998. We arrived in Cambodia on "Plowing Day", May 26th, the year 2000 and have been serving here ever since.
